This is the first of two compulsory papers in the Diploma in Postgraduate Preparation - Pre-Masters (DipPP) that enable students to obtain the English language skills they need to succeed in postgraduate studies. In addition, it provides practical help in developing key concepts and skills for academic study including academic integrity, reflective thinking, referencing, and giving presentations.

All students must attend all classes. Onshore students MUST attend class in person, and offshore students will attend class via Zoom. The Zoom link will be provided on the Moodle page under 'Course Information'. During class, students will work through activities individually, in pairs, and in groups. Students are also expected to complete a number of self-study tasks outside classroom hours.
